Cultural Diversity in Business Studies

U.S. Focus Option

Given the increased relevance and need for intercultural knowledge and skills in the business world, this focus of the Intercultural Studies Minor is designed to allow students with an interest in business careers to systematically bring together coursework within the context and organizing principles of the Intercultural Studies Program. Students will choose a program of study composed of a selection of courses from the ICS program, the Department of Business, and a variety of other departments.

As part of the requirements for a minor in Intercultural Studies, the focus in Cultural Diversity in Business Studies requires two of the following courses:

  • BUS 350 Cultural Diversity in Organizations (PPP)

          and

  • ECO 316 Comparative Economic Systems
  • GEO 111 Regional Study of the Modern Industrial World (WC)
  • GEO 112 Regional Study of the Developing World (GS)

          and

One or two of the following highly recommended ICS core courses:

  • BUS 271 Introduction to Global Business (GLS)
  • ICS 275 Introduction to International Studies
  • PSY 325/425 Culture and Psychology (GLS)
  • SOC 212 Cultural Anthropology (GLS)
