With a minor in Intercultural Studies, nursing majors can develop a relevant diversity focus within the nursing curriculum selected in consultation with an ICS focus advisor or co-coordinator.
Within the ICS minor, you may focus on a U.S. ethnic/racial group (e.g., African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Euro-Americans, Latino-Americans, Native [Indian]-Americans), a specific ethnic group (e.g., Chinese, Jamaican, Mexican, Polish, etc.), a cross-cutting minority group (e.g., disabled, special needs, gender, etc.), or a thematic concern (e.g., Multicultural, Holocaust Studies, etc.).
To complete a minor in Intercultural Studies with a focus in nursing, you’ll need to fulfill the core and ICS course requirements for the minor. In addition, you’ll need to fulfill focus-area requirements by choosing one of the following options:
