The Intercultural Studies Program (ICS) at Elmhurst College provides any interested student with the opportunity to develop a focus in Social Justice. This focus includes curricular attention to (inter)disciplinary theories or perspectives on social justice, definitional aspects of social justice, skills/strategies/methods of social justice, and/or practical field experiences. A field experience is strongly recommended.
As part of the requirements for a minor in Intercultural Studies, the focus in Social Justice Studies requires two of the following courses. In addition, one field experience (such as a practicum or internship) is recommended.
*Students may negotiate to substitute related field experiences, service learning or travel courses for the elective portion.
