Major in Elementary Education

The elementary education program prepares students to teach children from kindergarten to grade 9. Graduates of this program are teaching and leading in schools across the country. For students who are planning to teach at the middle-school level, we offer a middle school approval that meets all State of Illinois requirements.

All elementary education majors must complete a  minor or second major in addition to the education requirements for the major. Courses being applied to the minor must earn grades of C or higher.
