NURSING
Because of the high demand and competitive nature of our programs, we are unable to accept transfer student applications for entry into the nursing program at this time.  It has not yet been determined when there will be space available for future terms.  Additionally, it will not be possible to enroll at Elmhurst College with a different major in hopes of transferring to the nursing program at a later date.

*The Western Culture requirement for secondary education certification is restricted to American/U.S. History courses only. Early childhood, special education, and elementary education students may take any course listed in that category.

**The People, Power, Politics requirement for secondary education is restricted to American/National Government courses only. Early childhood, special education, and elementary education students may take any course listed in that category.

SPECIAL NOTES

• The highlighted math courses are math for elementary school teachers courses and should not be taken by those interested in secondary education.
• The non-Western course requirement may also be filled with any non-European 200-level or above foreign language course.
• In the science course requirements, NW (Natural World) and IST (Issues in Science and Technology) are designations for general education categories at Elmhurst College. If a biological science is chosen from the NW section, then choose a physical science from the IST section or vice versa. This will guarantee fulfillment of both education department and college requirements. For special education certification, two biological or two physical sciences may be taken instead of one of each.
