Student Life

The Elmhurst College campus is a student’s natural habitat. It combines the charm of a classic college campus with the high-tech necessities of a modern education. For evenings and weekends, “Downtown Elmhurst has almost everything a student could need,” says the Princeton Review. Just minutes from campus, you'll find an eight-screen movie house, lots of great restaurants, a bowling alley and a lot more.

All the comforts of home, just with more ramen noodles. Our six residence halls come equipped with all the creature comforts and technology you’ll need to comfortably live and study. They also host regular social events that range from impromptu movie nights to annual events like Rock-the-U and the Spring Fling barbeque.

Art, music and culture are all around you. The campus regularly hosts concerts, art exhibits and an outstanding array of guest speakers. Recent cultural seasons have brought three Nobel Prize winners, multiple Pulitzer Prize winners, three heads of state, world renowned scholars and the first woman to serve as a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.

This is a campus with a conscience. Social action programs at Elmhurst College are varied and impressive enough to catch the attention of The New York Times. “Nursing students work with the poor during clinical rotations,” the paper reported. “Education majors teach in schools with a high number of poor students. Students help needy youths in Jamaica learn how to play musical instruments. A Global Poverty Club tries to fight poverty elsewhere.” At Elmhurst, you’ll be at home on a beautiful campus, but you’ll be at one with the world around you.

“Don’t worry about fitting in, even if you’re shy or uncertain about where you belong,” an Elmhurst student told the Princeton Review. “The people are fun, nice and friendly. You’ll open up.”

You can get involved in more than 100 ways.
