Graduate Certificate in Human Geography for AP®

Curriculum

Graduate students in the graduate certificate in human geography for AP® program at Elmhurst are required to successfully complete 5 courses for a total of 3.75 credits (15 semester hours). Participants who complete all courses leading up to the capstone course, have the opportunity to publish their lesson plans and/or exercises in The Geography Teacher.

  • APH 500 Teaching AP® Human Geography
  • APH 501 Learning to Teach Spatial Concepts and Tools
  • APH 502 Implementing Spatial Concepts and Tools into the Classroom
  • APH 503 Teaching Urban, Economic, and Population Geography Issues
  • APH 504 AP® Human Geography Capstone

Program Format
This is a five-course part-time program that can be completed in less than one year. Offered through the Elmhurst College Online Center, the program is fully online in eight-week sessions.
