Elmhurst College Online Center

Elmhurst College Online Center

How It Works

As an adult learner, you come to class equipped with knowledge and skills that enable you to learn on your own initiative. Online programs at Elmhurst College are designed to meet both your academic and your practical needs.

Online courses operate through the Elmhurst College Online Center, a course management system that gives you online access to everything you’ll need—course readings, exams, lectures, technical help, even your grades. To access the online center, you’ll need to meet certain technical requirements.

Each course runs for four or eight weeks, depending on the term. Class members communicate with faculty and each other via email, chat and pager (text) from the learning environment, as well as through online discussion forums. They may also contact their faculty members by phone or video chat.

Every class maintains the high-tech, high-touch spirit for which Elmhurst is known. Classes are small, so professors devote the same high level of personal attention to each and every student.

All College support services are available to online students and may be easily accessed by email or phone.

The admission and registration process for online learning varies by program. To get started, check our program pages to see the requirements for the program that interests you. Questions? Contact us.
