Elmhurst College is committed to making the Elmhurst Experience an affordable option for you and your family.
About 97% of our students receive financial aid, and we offer unusually generous scholarships specifically for transfer students. As U.S. News & World Report puts it, Elmhurst is “a great school at a great price.”
Financial aid at Elmhurst comes in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and work-study. Here’s an overview.
Elmhurst offers transfer-specific scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $16,000 a year, depending on your grade-point average and number of transferable credits at the time of application. Transfer students are also eligible for additional scholarships based on artistic talent, membership in the United Church of Christ and in several other categories.
Transfer students are eligible for a variety of need-based grants, including awards from Elmhurst and from the state and federal governments.
Elmhurst offers student loans from funds provided through federal programs, including Federal Direct Loans and Perkins Loans.
Many Elmhurst students work on campus, either through the Federal Work-Study Program (which assists students with financial need) or through Elmhurst College–funded employment.
