Programs of Study

Art programs at Elmhurst provide the academic background, technical foundation, and qualifications that students need to pursue a wide variety of careers in visual arts, communications, education, or related fields. All our programs offer the strengths of a traditional curriculum, including the combination of liberal learning and professional preparation that is an Elmhurst College hallmark. At the same time, students have the flexibility to pursue individual artistic directions or career goals.

We offer the following programs of study:

K-12 Art Education Certification

Minor in Art Education

The department also welcomes students who wish to explore their creative interests by taking individual art courses. Introductory studios are open to all students regardless of previous experience or skill level.
