Minor in Art Education

The minor in art education satisfies the 18-hour  area of concentration requirement for early childhood and elementary education majors as well as an art endorsement for anyone with middle school approval. With the substitution of ART 362 for 361, and one additional art course, this six-course minor satisfies the 24-hour endorsement area requirement for middle and secondary education majors as long as the content area test in art is passed.

A minor in art education consists of five art courses:

  • ART 361 or ART 362
  • A minimum of one lecture course
  • One course at the 300- or 400-level
  • Not more than two transfer courses
