Special Opportunities

The special co-curricular opportunities at Elmhurst will introduce you to a wealth of career possibilities—and help you prepare to meet the challenges ahead. For example:

  • Internships provide valuable practical experience in professional situations. Students have recently completed internships at Information Station in Chicago, MWD Photography in Elmhurst, and a number of other area businesses and organizations.
  • Art education students teach in two different school environments before graduation—guaranteeing a wide exposure to the challenges of teaching different age groups.
  • Our faculty are prominent members of one of the largest art communities in the nation. That means valuable connections for you—long before you graduate.
  • January Term gives you the flexibility to pursue special courses of study, including travel experiences or exploring non- Western traditions of the Chicago art scene. During one recent January Term, a class taught by Professor John Weber produced a 300-square-foot mural for the College’s Schaible Science Center.
