The study of biological science can lead to a broad array of career opportunities, ranging from health care and veterinary medicine to teaching, agriculture, and environmental management.
While many Elmhurst alumni have pursued academic careers through further study at graduate and professional schools in Illinois and throughout the country, others have crafted successful careers directly from their undergraduate work.
Elmhurst biology graduates are college professors, practicing physicians, dentists, veterinarians, osteopaths, optometrists, physical therapists, and pharmacists. Others have joined biotechnology companies in various capacities from management to research. Some are teaching at the college or high school level; others work as researchers for companies such as Kraft Foods and Abbott Laboratories. Elmhurst biology graduates also monitor municipal water quality, work on environmental projects, and help maintain wildlife preserves.
