Major in Marketing

Chicago's history as a center for marketing provides many opportunities for marketing majors to get a head start in their careers. Majors complete the core requirements (maintaining a 2.0 overall average in the core) and five additional courses in areas such as sales, retail management, advertising, consumer behavior, and market research. They are then ready to pursue careers ranging from advertising to sales.

Requirements for the Major
A student specializing in marketing must take BUS 430 Marketing Problems and four of the following courses in addition to the Core curriculum.

BUS 301 Introduction to Logistics and Supply Chain Management
BUS 331 Sales
BUS 332 Retailing Management
BUS 334 Advertising
BUS 335 Consumer Behavior
BUS 336 Marketing Research
