Learn how our program will give you fresh knowledge and skills and prepare you to lead in the field of computer information systems.
In a Chicago Tribune article, Program Director Linda Krause says that two years after Elmhurst started offering the PSM degree, all of its graduates are employed.
To be a leader in computer communications takes a lot more than technical know-how. It takes the ability to see the big picture—to identify and evaluate an organization’s needs, and then translate those needs into systems that work. Successful computer experts manage people and information, and communicate effectively throughout today’s complicated workplaces.
At Elmhurst, you’ll acquire the hardware and software knowledge needed to design, program and administer computer network systems, database systems and web sites. We offer instruction in hot technologies such as ASP.NET, SQL Server, web services and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
The program is offered under the EC Flex model, allowing you to complete the program online, on campus or both. Onsite classes are held on our campus in the western suburbs of Chicago.
Our program has been recognized as a Professional Science Master’s (PSM) degree, an affiliation billed as “the MBA for the 21st century.” This innovative two-year graduate degree is designed to allow students to pursue advanced training and excel in science while simultaneously developing highly-valued business skills. PSM programs prepare students for science careers in business, government, or nonprofit organizations, where workforce needs are increasing.
Graduates of the program have landed at some of the Chicago area’s leading companies, including Americaneagle.com, CME Group, Exelon Corp., United Airlines and Argonne National Laboratory.
