To be a leader in computer communications takes a lot more than technical know-how. It takes the ability to see the big picture—to identify and evaluate an organization’s needs, and then translate those needs into systems that work. Successful computer experts manage people and information, and communicate effectively throughout today’s complicated workplaces.

At Elmhurst, you’ll acquire the hardware and software knowledge needed to design, program and administer computer network systems, database systems and web sites. We offer instruction in hot technologies such as ASP.NET, SQL Server, web services and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Students may complete the program online through the Elmhurst College Online Center or combine classroom and online options. Either way, you'll complete the program in just under two years.

Our program has been recognized as a Professional Science Master’s (PSM) degree, an affiliation billed as “the MBA for the 21st century.” This innovative two-year graduate degree is designed to allow students to pursue advanced training and excel in science while simultaneously developing highly-valued business skills. PSM programs prepare students for science careers in business, government, or nonprofit organizations, where workforce needs are increasing.

Graduates of the program have landed at some of the Chicago area’s leading companies, including Americaneagle.com, CME Group, Exelon Corp., United Airlines and Argonne National Laboratory.

Built on a cohort model, the program embraces the College’s belief that students play a significant role in one another’s learning, motivation, and success. Students who start in the Fall Term form a cohort that stays intact throughout the program. You will work closely with members of your cohort in classroom and study projects, and you’ll help one another maintain a sense of progress and achievement.
