The program is available completely online through the Elmhurst College Online Center or in a hybrid format combining on-campus and online coursework. 

In this program, you will:

• Enhance your communication skills, problem-solving skills, and sense of the importance of network communications to the information needs of today’s society.
• Develop an understanding, appreciation, and respect for ethical issues that are interwoven into the widespread sharing of data and information on both national and international scales.
•  Learn the ins and outs of WANs, LANs, application and Web programming, distributed databases, network security, and client/ server systems.

Prerequisites
Students in this program come from a variety of backgrounds. If you do not hold an undergraduate degree in CS/IS or related work experience, the program coordinator may recommend that you complete prerequisite courses. You will need general knowledge of computer programming and proficiency in a programming language, especially VB.NET.
