Few things are as important as communication skills. Actors depend on them. Business recruiters choose candidates who have them. Everyone needs them. Elmhurst’s Department of Communication Arts and Sciences offers several majors, each with its own special emphasis. In each, you'll find a concentrated curriculum that focuses on theory, skills and issues.
Increasingly, surveys indicate that one of the skills business leaders value most is communication, both oral and written. And with the city of Chicago just a few miles away, the opportunities to practice communication skills—and to start a career in advertising, human resources, broadcasting and other fields—are terrific.
Communication majors graduate from Elmhurst with skills and experience. You might do an internship with WGN, CLTV or a Chicago-area theatre. You might perform at the Mill Theatre or spin tunes at our on-campus radio station. With such strong credentials, it’s no wonder our graduates land great jobs in fields such as theatre, human resources, public relations and broadcasting.
