Whether your focus is on theatre arts, corporate communication, or broadcasting, you'll need to practice what you're learning—while you're learning. At Elmhurst, you'll find plenty of opportunities for hands-on experience: on stage, on the air, or on the job. For example:

  • Our campus radio station provides on-air opportunities as well as production experience. WRSE-FM is a 320-watt station with a sophisticated array of equipment.
  • Elmhurst's own Mill Theatre provides on-campus opportunities to act, work on sets and lights, and even design and direct plays. As a theatre major at Elmhurst, you can get involved in Elmhurst College Theatre productions as early as freshman year.
  • World-class internships are available in the immediate area and in downtown Chicago, just 16 miles away.
  • Departmental practica provide practical experience and insight into radio or theatre.
  • National organizations, such as the Theta Alpha Phi National Theatre Honorary and Lambda Pi Eta, give you a look at the professional world.
