Programs of Study

Elmhurst offers a full range of teacher education programs that lead to Illinois teacher certification at the undergraduate and graduate level. Thoroughly steeped in Elmhurst's strong liberal arts tradition, the Department of Education provides excellent resources for subject-area and specialized education courses.

All teacher certification programs are accredited by the State of Illinois and/or by NCATE (National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education). Candidates who complete these approved programs are recommended for Illinois state teacher certification, which allows them to be legally employed as teachers in Illinois public schools.
