Major in Early Childhood Education

The early childhood education program prepares students to teach children from birth to grade 3. Graduates of this program are teaching and leading in schools and day-care centers across the country. For students who are interested in working with young children with special needs, we offer an early childhood special education approval, as designated by the State of Illinois and Elmhurst College.

All early childhood education majors must complete a minor or second major in addition to the education requirements for the major. Courses being applied toward the minor must earn grades of C or higher.
