The Elmhurst Learning and Success Academy (ELSA) is designed for adults between the ages of 18 and 28 who have:
An ELSA student’s intellectual disabilities may be accompanied by physical or sensory disabilities.
Applicants to ELSA must have earned a high school diploma or certificate of completion, or both. An ideal candidate for ELSA is a student who is interested in developing his or her skills in functional literacy, ability to use technology, and capacity for employment and independent living.
To qualify for ELSA, a student must have sufficient emotional skills and capacity for independence, be able to read and write at the third-grade level, and enjoy strong family support of the program’s objectives.
