A minor in geographic information systems (GIS) requires a minimum of five (5) courses. While the following list of courses is strongly recommended for the minor, other courses within the department may be substituted to meet the needs and interests of individual students after consultation with an advisor in the department or the department chair.
Note: Students may not major in Applied Geospatial Technologies and minor in GIS nor major in Applied Geospatial Technologies and minor in physical geography.

GEO 207 Introduction to Spatial Thinking
GEO 308 Remote Sensing Techniques
GEO 309 Introduction to Spatial Analysis
GEO 400 Advanced Spatial Analysis (Prerequisite: MTH 345 or 346)
IS 100 Programming GIS Applications with VBA/VB.NET
It is strongly recommended that students minoring in GIS also take IS 200 Design and Development of Geodatabases
