The support of our friends and alumni has enormous impact. In recent years, your support has helped us:

• Achieve new prominence in national and regional surveys of higher education. With the help of our donors, we've strengthened our academic programs — and the world is taking notice. For example, we're the only college in Illinois to crack the Top 10 in U.S. News & World Report's 2004 ranking of the Midwest's "Best Comprehensive Colleges."
  
• Build a more attractive, fully realized campus. Among recent improvements are substantial renovations to Buehler Library, a fifth residence hall (North Hall), and a new academic building, slated for completion in the fall of 2004. Alumni Circle, with its stately fountain, gives the north end of campus a fresh unity and cohesiveness. The Tyrrell Fitness Center and major renovations to the Frick Center substantially enrich the student experience.
  
• Increase our endowment. Endowment is the key to financial stability in higher education today. It enables us to support some of our students, faculty, and programs with the interest earned on invested funds.
