History

Programs of Study

Whether you choose to major in history or just take a few courses, our department has a place for you. At Elmhurst, you won't just memorize dates and names; you'll learn to evaluate information, research and write compellingly, and assess competing arguments.

Courses offered by the Department of History may be counted toward some general education requirements or a major or minor in history. Students may also choose the interdepartmental major in American Studies.
