39th Annual Jazz Festival
Elmhurst College will proudly host its 39th annual Jazz Festival from Friday, February 24, through Sunday, February 26, with two shows each day.
This year’s headline performers will include The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, formerly the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Band (performing Saturday night), and the Joe Lovano Quartet (performing Sunday night). The University of North Texas One O’Clock Lab Band will highlight the Festival’s 2006 opening-night show.
Dozens of top professional and college jazz bands (including the Elmhurst College Jazz Band, directed by Grammy-winner Doug Beach) will play in Hammerschmidt Chapel. Shows begin daily at 12 noon and 7:30 p.m.
