An internship is an excellent way to gain professional confidence and a competitive edge.
Elmhurst interns take on in-depth, substantive projects at sites ranging from WMAQ-NBC5 to Kraft Foods to WorldChicago to Gray Hunter Stenn LLP. They integrate career-related experience into their education by participating in supervised work, and even earn course credit for internships in Fall, Spring or Summer term.
Students of any major are eligible to take on an internship. Depending on your discipline, you’ll work with your advisor or with Elmhurst’s Office of Career Education to choose an internship that matches your goals and interests. Internships are also available through the Niebuhr Center for Faith and Action and the Patterson Center for the Health Professions.
Internships offer the opportunity to explore a professional field related to your major and career goals. The program guides you through intentional learning objectives, skills assessments and performance evaluations. The experience complements and enhances classroom learning while creating links between the College and the world of work.
An Elmhurst internship can lead to a great job and give you a powerful start on life. You'll emerge with marketable skills, clarified career goals and a network of professional support.
