For nearly 50 years, Elmhurst College has worked with businesses and other employers to establish internships and mutually productive partnerships. Each year, more than 100 Elmhurst students serve as interns throughout the Chicago area, gaining valuable skills and providing valuable services to their employers.
Internships are typically part-time positions of fixed duration that offer students the opportunity to explore an occupational field and/or work experience related to their career plans. As a four-year comprehensive college, Elmhurst encompasses students majoring in everything from business administration and human services to music, math and the physical sciences.
Internships: Fall, Spring and Summer
Elmhurst students may work 10 to 20 hours per week during Fall or Spring term for up to 14 weeks, and during Summer Term for up to eight weeks.
During the month of January, Elmhurst College students may take on internships of 35 to 40 hours per week. Many January placements transition to part-time jobs or Spring Term internships.
