For Parents

As a parent, you can play a significant role in your student’s career development. That's why the Center for Professional Excellence at Elmhurst College invites you to join us as we support your student's career exploration efforts. We hope you'll encourage your student to become acquainted with the career education services available through the CPE.

One of the recurring themes in any entry-level job search is lack of experience. “Where do I get experience if no one is willing to hire me?” The answer is simple: Get an internship!

An internship offers students the chance to learn by doing. Under professional supervision, interns can achieve their own learning goals, without the responsibilities of being a permanent employee.
