What Interns Do

As an Elmhurst College student, the internships you take on will involve substantive, real-world projects. You’ll explore your chosen field in depth. You’ll apply what you learn in the classroom to actual workplace issues.

Here are some examples of what Elmhurst students have done for their internships:

  • Take photos for a local newspaper
  • Book talent for the House of Blues
  • Teach music to children in Jamaica
  • Nurse patients at the Mayo Clinic
  • Provide speech therapy to local children
  • Organize a local blood drive
  • Conduct health screenings at an area homeless shelter
  • Spin tunes at a radio station
  • Do market research for a multinational corporation
  • Craft a business plan for a small nonprofit
  • Conduct research at Argonne National Laboratories
  • Develop a disaster-response plan for a religious organization

In the process, you’ll develop knowledge and skills that will give you a competitive edge.
