How It Works

As an adult learner, you will come to class equipped with knowledge and skills that enable you to learn at an accelerated pace. This program is designed to meet your specific academic and practical needs.

• Most classes meet one night a week.
• The major includes nine courses (36 semester hours).
• You can complete your major courses in about 14 months.
• In addition to completing the major requirements, all students must complete Integrated Curriculum and elective courses required to earn the degree (32 course credits/128 semester hours).
• All courses are taught by the faculty of Elmhurst College. Our full-time faculty has extensive hands-on industry experience and stays current with academic research and trends in business computing applications. Our adjunct faculty reinforces the program’s real-world orientation with up-to-the-minute knowledge of business needs and practices.
• You may be able to earn elective credits for life experience and other non-collegiate learning. (See Credit Options to find out more.)
• You will work with a faculty advisor, who will take a personal interest in your success as you proceed toward graduation and beyond.
• The program is offered within a matrix of course modules that you will complete in a logical sequence.

 The program is available on campus or entirely online through the Elmhurst College Online Center.

On-campus format: Classes meet in the evenings on the Elmhurst College campus. The on-campus program is available only as a complete, integrated experience, and you will work with classmates in and out of class to accomplish learning goals. If you need to withdraw, you will be invited to join a later cohort.

Online format: Classes are eight weeks in length and are completed fully online. Although you communicate with professors and peers online, every course maintains the Elmhurst high-tech, high-touch spirit. Classes are small, so professors can continue to devote the same high level of personal attention to each and every student.
