Course Sequence

The accelerated major in information technology is designed as a complete, integrated experience. Students complete the coursework for the major as a cohort. Most classes meet once a week in the following 14-month sequence:

Term I
(20 weeks, 3 course credits/12 semester hours, full-time status)
Opening Session, Orientation
IT 212 Computer Fundamentals/Logic
IT 228 Computer Organization and Architecture
IT 348 Database

Term II
(20 weeks, 3 course credits/12 semester hours, full-time status)
IT 232 Introduction to Programming in JAVA
IT 312 Fundamentals of Networking
IT 408 Web Design and Development

Term III
(18 weeks, 3 course credits/12 semester hours, full-time status)
IT 328 Principles of Internetworking
IT 422 Client/Server Programming
IT 482 IT Project Development

The IT program can also be completed online with courses offered in 8 week format.
