Understanding the dynamics of human movement is the first step in preparing for a range of careers—including teaching, personal training, physical or occupational therapy, and other allied health professions. At Elmhurst, that understanding comes through hands-on programs and scientific study, work with state-of-the-art software programs and up-to-date testing equipment, and great classes taught by knowledgeable professors. It’s a thorough, dynamic education that propels you right into the future you want.
You can major in physical education or exercise science. Each major has a strong scientific component, and each stays up to date with current trends. Each provides a thorough understanding of the dynamics of human movement—essential preparation for a range of careers in health and teaching. You’ll get plenty of hands-on experience with today’s software programs and other teaching tools.
Elmhurst graduates build interesting careers at health clubs, elementary and high schools, and local universities and hospitals. Others pursue graduate study in exercise physiology, chiropractic, medicine, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy and physician assistant.
