About the Program

The master of market research at Elmhurst is designed to prepare students for careers in marketing research. The program is intended for individuals with some training in market research or a related field, who wish to further their knowledge or pursue a new career in market research.

The program’s curriculum focuses on the entire research process including sampling techniques, data collection, research design, data analysis, consumer insight and effective decision-making skills. And it provides students with real-life marketing problems and hands-on experience to deliver real-world solutions through the D.K. Hardin Center for Market Research, in order to advance their skills to become marketing professionals sought after in the field.

In this program, you will:

  • Learn a solutions-oriented approach to problem solving in marketing.
  • Gain an understanding of the relevance of ethics in decision making related to research.
  • Learn how to use current business and analytical tools for decision making in the business world from a research context.
  • Develop and implement innovative research solutions for real-world problems.

A Flexible Format
The master of market research is a part-time program that can be completed in as little as two years. Offered through the Elmhurst College Online Center, the program is fully online with classes that are flexible enough to accommodate the schedules of professionals with work and family commitments. Please note, you can complete MMR 583, MMR 584, MMR 585, MMR 586 and electives by enrolling completely online or through evening classes on campus.

The master of market research program at Elmhurst is designed for marketing professionals who have completed an undergraduate degree in marketing or a related field.

Candidates for the master of market research must have completed the following prerequisites:*

  • Principles of Marketing or Basic Marketing
  • Statistics

You also need at least two years of professional business experience.

*Prerequisites can be met through the student’s undergraduate coursework or transferred from another college or university.
