Elmhurst offers two degree programs that prepare students for careers in the music industry, such as talent booking, record promotion, marketing and production. The bachelor of music offers a heavier concentration in music, while the bachelor of science is weighted more heavily with business courses. Both programs have a strong liberal arts component, giving graduates breadth as well as professional qualifications.
Our music business program draws on the vast resources of the Chicago area for great internships, experienced faculty and career opportunities. One of the oldest music business programs in the area, it offers excellent preparation for a career as a producer, executive or business manager.
Music business students gain hands-on experience through a 240-hour internship with an area business, such as a record company, a performing organization, or a media outlet.
