Elmhurst College Campus Security Advisory

Elmhurst College received an anonymous threat of violence, which was directed against Elmhurst College students and a College event.
The Elmhurst Police Department acted quickly and apprehended a suspect. On Monday, May 12, Police announced the arrest of Cedric A. Jordan, a 34-year-old student at the College. Mr. Jordan was charged with falsely making a terrorist threat, a Class 1 felony, the release said. Bond was set at $200,000.
“The safety of the students and employees of Elmhurst College is our first concern,” said Dr. Bryant Cureton, president of Elmhurst College. “We very much appreciate the efforts of the Elmhurst Police Department in responding quickly and effectively and resolving this situation.”
Throughout the situation, the campus was safe and the members of the College community were in no danger.
