The Elmhurst College Computer Science and Technology Center now bears the name of the former Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives.

On March 14, Elmhurst College’s Computer Science and Technology Center was permanently re-named “Daniels Hall” during a dedication ceremony in the building’s main lobby.
Daniels, a long-time Elmhurst resident, served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1975 to 2006. During the event, which was attended by Daniels’ family and friends, as well as leaders from both the College and community, he was honored for his leadership and his consistent support of Elmhurst College and its community.
Daniels Hall houses computer labs and Elmhurst College’s distinctive Center for the Health Professions, as well as the departments of computer science and information systems; mathematics; foreign languages and literatures; and geography & geosciences. The Gretsch Recording Studio, Instructional Media Center, and a weather station are also located within the 20-year-old academic structure.
