In today’s job market, professionals considering new job opportunities or career advancement must be smart and distinctive in their communications. On Thursday, June 19, Elmhurst College’s School for Professional Studies and the Career Transitions Center of Chicago will present an Over 40 & Hired workshop, A Résumé Clinic: Strengthening Search Communications.
In this hands-on clinic, Career Transitions Center coach Marcia McMahon will help participants examine success, values and aspirations to develop a professional, results-focused résumé. Attendees also will learn how to create a values statement to better brand themselves on a résumé and LinkedIn profile, and will leave the workshop with a résumé that is ready to use.
McMahon is a certified career counselor with an extensive background in human resources. She also is a member of the National Résumé Writers Association.
A Résumé Clinic: Strengthening Search Communications will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Frick Center on the Elmhurst College campus. This event is open to the public. Admission is $10 per person and includes a full breakfast. Breakfast and registration will begin at 7:45 a.m. Participants are asked to bring five copies of their current résumé.
Since 1997, the Career Transitions Center of Chicago has facilitated job and career transition for more than 7,000 professionals in the greater Chicagoland area and beyond.
