Course Offerings

Students in the Callings for the Common Good program take innovative courses taught by talented teachers in a wide range of academic departments—from religious studies and education to communications and business.

Niebuhr Center students take one of two gateway courses:

  • REL 280 Ministry: Callings and Practice  
  • REL 281 Serving Society: Faith Perspectives

Additional courses, offered in conjunction with a variety of academic departments across campus, include:

  • BUS 350 Cultural Diversity in Organizations
  • COM 315 Intercultural Communication
  • EDU 380 Comparative Studies–Travel
  • REL 371 South Africa: Service and Interdisciplinary Study

All courses in the Callings for the Common Good program integrate critical study with exploration of professional options, in light of your faith or spiritual commitments.
