About the Department
The Deicke Center for Nursing Education at Elmhurst College provides the educational depth and breadth that you'll need to step confidently into health care work or advanced study. Whether you're an undergraduate or graduate student in nursing, you'll find:
- A personal learning environment. Classes at Elmhurst are small by design, with a student-faculty ratio in clinical of 8:1. Our faculty will work closely with you—and they'll get to know you as an individual.
- A professional faculty. Each member of Elmhurst's nursing faculty has an advanced degree in nursing. Our faculty know what it takes to succeed in nursing—because they've done it themselves.
- A world of experience. At Elmhurst, you'll have abundant opportunities for clinical work in hospitals, public schools, and more—starting your junior year.
- Preparation for a remarkable career. Elmhurst graduates have an outstanding success rate with the national licensure examination.
The Deicke Center for Nursing Education's baccalaureate program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education through 2010, approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, and a member of the National League for Nursing (NLN).
