Programs of Study

Political science students have the nation and the world as their laboratory. Topics such as American government and politics, world political systems, public policy, and law frame debate. Participation in the Washington Semester, internships, Model U. N., and Mock Trial supplements classroom discussion of political theory and philosophy.

At Elmhurst, students study all aspects of political science, with special emphasis on: 

  • Political philosophy
  • American constitutional law
  • Comparative government
  • International relations
  • American government and politics
  • Public law and public policy 

Students can choose to major or minor in political science, or prepare to teach secondary school.
