Break Period Housing

Apartment & House Break Housing
Break housing is available in the apartments and houses to residents who request it.  Apartment/house residents may host approved residence hall guests in their space during the break period.  This online form is available a few weeks before each break period.

Residence Hall Break Housing
Residence halls are closed during Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks. Residence Hall residents who have a legitimate need to be housed during break periods (i.e., international students, out-of-area students and non-commutable student athletes engaged in post season or tournament play) may apply for break housing. The Office of Residence Life will work with the appropriate departments and students to ensure that only those who absolutely need to stay over the break periods are accorded that privilege. Residence hall students approved to stay may be temporarily assigned to alternative housing arrangements for the break period, or may elect to stay as a guest of an approved apartment/house resident.

The online form  to request break housing is available a few weeks before each break period.  It must be completed at least 48 hours before the beginning of the break period.

Students approved to stay in campus housing for break periods:

  • Are subject to all policies of the College. If your behavior is deemed inappropriate by Residence Life Staff members, you will be required to vacate immediately. Failure to abide by any established Residence Life guidelines may result in loss of privilege to stay during current and/or future break periods.
  • Are not allowed to host guests in the residence halls (including residents from other buildings) and may only host guests in the apartments/houses with prior approval from the Office of Residence Life.
  • Will have limited services in the areas of Food Service, Shuttle Service and Facilities Management.
