Break Period Housing
Traditional residence halls close for Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and Spring Break. Students living in residence halls who have a legitimate need to be housed during break periods must complete and submit the Break Housing Request 2009-2010 Residence Halls Form. The Office of Residence Life will work with the appropriate departments and students to ensure that only those that absolutely need to stay over the break periods are accorded that privilege. Residence hall students approved to stay may be temporarily assigned to alternative housing arrangements for the break period, or may elect to stay as a guest of an approved apartment/house resident.
Break period housing is available in apartments and houses to residents who complete and submit the Break Housing Request 2009-2010 Apts-Houses Form. Apartment/house residents may host approved residence hall guests in their space during the break period.
Students approved to stay in campus housing for break periods:
Habitat for Humanity participants may request break period housing for either late departures from campus, early returns to campus, or both. All participants must meet the above stated eligibility. Otherwise, participants are asked to commute to departure times, and return home after trips, until the buildings open on Sunday, April 4. The only exception is for students attending the New Orleasn and South Carolina trips; those students will be approved for break period housing on Friday, March 26. If you are participating in a Habitat for Humanity trip, please use this form, specific to the needs of the Habitat Volunteers.
