About the Program

Philosophy
We’ve created the Chicago area’s only graduate program in supply chain management to help fill a pressing need for managers with SCM expertise. Many firms are abandoning traditional channels of distribution and are rebuilding around a supply chain management (SCM) model -- a process-oriented, integrated approach to procuring, producing, and delivering products and services to consumers. Our program builds on our extensive experience as the only local provider of an undergraduate program in logistics and transportation management. It also draws on our location at the geographic center of one of the world’s great transportation and logistics hubs.

Curriculum
This is a 22-course (with one final project), 21-month program. In it you’ll gain a sound technical foundation while honing the personal and professional skills you need to succeed: communication, negotiation, team building, information technology, analytical thinking, working in diverse business environments, and sound business decision making. You’ll balance current theory with its practical applications in every course.

Faculty
You’ll study with Elmhurst’s exceptional CBE faculty—no teaching assistants. You’ll work closely in small classes with professionals who know what it takes to succeed the real world, because they’ve done it themselves.

Cohorts
Built on a cohort model, the program embraces the College’s belief that students play a significant role in one another’s learning, motivation, and success. Students who start in the Fall Term form a cohort that stays intact throughout the program. You will work closely with members of your cohort in classroom and study projects, and you’ll help one another maintain a sense of progress and achievement. Because of the vital role the cohort plays in each student’s success, students are selected to complement one another in the learning process.

Advising
You’ll work face-to-face with the program director to create the schedule of courses that meets your academic and professional goals.

Practicalities
You’ll complete the program in 21 months. You’ll attend classes one evening per week to accommodate your busy schedule. You’ll prepare to step with confidence into a position of leadership in your profession.
