Frequently Asked Questions-Parking
Where is The Office of Campus Security located?
The Office of Campus Security is located in the lower level of Lehmann Hall, overlooking the football field. We are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year for your convenience. Our emergency and non-emergency number is 630-617-3000.
What vehicle services does the Office of Campus Security provide?
We will assist you if you lock your keys in your car or if your car doesn’t start. Your vehicle must be parked on campus, along Walter Street, in the College’s parking spaces along the railroad tracks or in one of the two remote parking lots, and you must have a Jaypass with you. There is no charge for these services, but you will need to sign a vehicle service waiver form. We do not change flat tires or dig cars out of the snow.
I have a parking sticker from last academic year. Do I need to get a new one?
Yes. Parking stickers are valid for one year from September 1 to August 31.
What are the costs for parking stickers?
The parking sticker fee is $50 per semester for commuter students and $100 per semester for residential students. The fee will be charged to your student account once you register your vehicle with the Office of Campus Security. There is no fee for faculty and staff parking stickers.
I was a resident student last semester and I am a commuter student this semester (or vice versa). What should I do about parking?
Bring your current parking sticker to the Office of Campus Security and exchange it for a new sticker.
Are first year residential students permitted to park on campus?
No. The parking policy prohibits first year residential students from having a car on campus. If you would like to apply for an exception, come to the Office of Campus Security and pick up an exception form. Do not bring the car to campus until you have permission to do so. If your exception is granted, you may then come in and register your car and the fee will be added to your student account.

What are the rules for parking if I live at Elm Park Apartments or Prospect Apartments?
Each apartment has one parking space assigned to it. The apartment number matches the space number you need to park in. Elm Park apartment space numbers are on the sign in front of the space. Prospect Apartment space numbers are painted on the ground in the space.
You must obtain a residential parking sticker and an apartment hang tag to park in your assigned parking space. Apartment hang tags are updated each semester. Your apartment hang tag should be displayed from your rearview mirror when parked in the apartment space. You may not transfer or lend your apartment hang tag to any other person, and you may not allow other people to park in your assigned space. Spaces are reserved for residents of that apartment only, and you may only park in your assigned space. If your assigned space is occupied, you must park in an overnight permitted lot between 2:00 am and 6:00 am. Overnight lots are the Dinkmeyer Hall lot, Stanger Hall/West Hall lot, Alexander lot or Mill Theatre lot. Overnight parking is not allowed in the general parking spaces in the Science Center lot. If your apartment hang tag rips, bring it to the Office of Campus Security for a replacement.
What are the rules for parking if I live in a campus house?

If your driveway is occupied, you must park in an overnight permitted lot between 2:00 am and 6:00 am. Overnight lots are the Dinkmeyer Hall lot, West Hall lot, Alexander lot or Mill Theatre lot. Any spot in the Science Center lot is not overnight permitted. You are not permitted to park or drive on the grass at any time.
