Service-Learning
Each term, more than 300 Elmhurst students work to strengthen the community beyond campus. The service-learning initiative links academic knowledge with social service in energizing and meaningful ways. Students work with children with special needs at an Easter Seal Child Development Center, assist with ESL classes, help to care for homeless people, work with senior citizens, tutor elementary school children, and much more.
Your service-learning experience may consist of a few hours of practical coursework; a J-term, spring break, or summer immersion activity; or a long-term commitment crossing over several courses. Your efforts may address local, national, or international issues.
