Leadership Opportunities

Many Elmhurst students serve in leadership positions through the Student Government Association, the Union Board, the Residence Hall Association and other student organizations. Here are some opportunities to lead.

The LeaderShape Institute
This six-day leadership development experience empowers students to explore how they can create a more just, caring and thinking world. Learn more at Elmhurst's LeaderShape website.

Hall governments plan programs such as scavenger hunts, theme dances, building Olympics, band showcases, community service projects, and barbecues. Membership in hall governments is open to all campus residents. Hall governments are:

  • Dinkmeyer Hall Congress
  • Niebuhr Hall Council
  • North Hall High Council
  • Schick Hall Council
  • Unite Stanger

Resident Advisors
Resident Advisors (RAs) plan and implement social and educational programs, foster a sense of community among floor residents, develop leadership skills, promote a well-balanced and healthy environment in the residence halls, and serve as advisers for the other members of the residence hall community. RAs also represent the Office of Residence Life office at many College functions, including orientation and recruitment of prospective students. The process of filling fall positions begins the previous spring.
