The Elmhurst LeaderShape Institute
July 8-13, 2008
When you look around, do you see what is or imagine what could be? Where will you find the skills and strength to turn potential into reality?
The Elmhurst LeaderShape Institute will empower you by making a commitment to your vision, by developing relationships to move that vision into action, and by acting and leading with integrity.
What is it? The Elmhurst LeaderShape Institute is a six-day leadership program that brings students together with community and campus leaders. In small groups and seminars, you’ll learn more about what it means to lead with integrity and start to turn your vision into reality.
Who is it for? The program is designed for Elmhurst students from all corners of campus—leaders of clubs and organizations, student athletes, independent people with the courage to stand out.
When is it, and where? The Elmhurst LeaderShape Institute meets from Tuesday, July 8, through Sunday, July 13, 2008, at the Resurrection Center in Woodstock, Illinois.
How much does it cost? All costs—transportation from Elmhurst, food, and lodging—will be covered by Elmhurst College.
What will I do? Together with a diverse group of your Elmhurst classmates, you'll work with community and campus leaders—from the College and the “real world”—who will guide you as you learn more about what it means to lead with integrity. You'll develop a “Breakthrough Blueprint” to bring your vision of the world into reality, a real plan for making immediate positive change. You'll work to turn your vision for the future into reality.
Each of your six days will center around a different step in the Elmhurst LeaderShape Institute program:
- Day 1 - Building Community
- Day 2 - The Value of One, the Power of One
- Day 3 - Challenging What Is, Looking to What Could Be
- Day 4 - Bringing Vision to Reality
- Day 5 - Living and Leading with Integrity
- Day 6 - Staying in Action
And you will stay in action, as you will be paired with an on-campus mentor who will continue to meet with you after the program to revisit your plan for change-to support you as you put your vision into action.
How do I apply? Simply complete the online application by April 11.
