Elmhurst College invites you to attend our inaugural Educator's Forum. Our April 2014 Educator’s Forum is intended for licensed educators looking to better understand the licensure changes occurring in the State of Illinois.
The Forum will contain a mixture of informative presentations with Q&A sessions and is designed to be used as an informal guide to licensure changes and professional planning. With speakers from the Department of Education at Elmhurst College, forum topics will include:
• What Happened to My Teaching “Certificate”? Understanding the New Licensure Language
• No More Type 75: Now What? Comparing the Principal Endorsement and Teacher Leader Endorsement
• Endorsements are in Demand: How have they changed? What is required to earn them? ESL (English as a Second Language), Bilingual, Special Education (LBS1) and Bilingual Special Education
This event is free to attend and CEU’s will be available upon request. All attendees have the chance to win a free iPad Mini at the event (winner must be present to win).
Schdule of events is as follows:
8:30 a.m.: Check-in and light breakfast
9:00 a.m.: Educator’s forum
10:30 a.m.: Optional information session on Elmhurst College graduate programs with presentations by:
Daniel Jares, educator licensure officer
Debra Meyer, professor, program director of teacher leadership
Lisa Burke, associate professor, director of special education
Beverly Troiano, assistant professor, english language learner program coordinator
