» Teacher Leadership

Today’s classrooms call for teacher leaders with highly developed knowledge and skills—advanced practitioners who are ready to serve in the classroom as catalysts for change. Our groundbreaking master’s program in teacher leadership offers a progressive alternative to more conventional master's programs in curriculum and instruction.

It will prepare you to expand your role and broaden your impact as an educator—without leaving the classroom. The program is designed for experienced teachers from the pre-kindergarten to the high school levels with certificates in early children, elementary, secondary, special education and K-12 specialty areas.

You’ll engage in critical inquiry, study current issues and apply best practices in education; you'll also develop innovative projects for your classroom and school community. What's more, you’ll master the latest classroom technologies and research methods, and improve your communication and team-building skills.

This 10-course, 30-hour program provides flexible and convenient scheduling. You can take one, two or three courses in a term and start in the Fall, Spring or Summer Terms. You can earn an ESL endorsement, reading teacher endorsement or middle level approval as part of the 10-course program. If you already have your master’s degree, you can earn a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study.
