Teacher Leadership offers tools to make changes in the classroom, says Director Jeanne White.
» Teacher Leadership
Today’s classrooms call for teacher leaders with highly developed knowledge and skills—advanced practitioners who are ready to serve in the classroom as catalysts for change.
Elmhurst College offers a graduate program in teacher leadership designed for experienced teachers from pre-kindergarten to the high school level in early childhood, elementary, secondary, special education and K-12 specialty areas.
Our program is organized around a central theme: teaching as a catalyst for change. You’ll engage in critical inquiry and study current issues and practices in the education field. You’ll apply best practices and develop innovative projects in order to have a positive impact on school and student success.
In highly interactive classes, you’ll form learning partnerships with educators from a range of disciplines. You’ll work closely with exceptional full-time faculty with diverse areas of expertise. In fact, you’ll enjoy ready access to a full-time faculty advisor throughout your time at Elmhurst.
This 13-course, 37-hour program also meets the practical needs of teachers. You’ll earn your degree on a schedule that works for you, with classes meeting every other week on campus in a hybrid format. You can take one, two or three courses in a term and start in the Fall, Spring or Summer terms.
