Constance A. Mixon

Professor Mixon teaches courses in American government, state and local government, urban politics, public administration and public policy. Prior to joining Elmhurst College in the spring of 2010, she taught at the City Colleges of Chicago for eleven years where she served as a dean of instruction and was also director of the Honors and Illinois Scholar Programs. In 2001, Professor Mixon was named the Illinois Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Her new book, Twenty-First Century Chicago, was recently published.
